About Me
Hello, I’m Mandy – the heart and hands behind Mandy Home Bakery. I’ve been baking for as long as I can remember, but it was when I discovered the art of floral cupcakes and cakes that my true passion bloomed. I love nothing more than creating edible works of art that are as beautiful as they are delicious. Every swirl of buttercream and every petal of frosting is made with care, patience and love. For me, baking isn’t just about cake – it’s about creating joy, marking special moments and sharing something truly personal.
My Inspiration
My inspiration comes from the place I love most – my garden. It’s where I find peace, creativity, and endless ideas. The colours, textures and shapes of the flowers around me often find their way into my designs. From the delicate blush of a rose to the soft green of new leaves, my bakes are a reflection of the beauty I see every day outside my kitchen window. Nature is full of detail and harmony, and I try to capture a little of that in every cupcake bouquet and celebration cake I make.


Bespoke Creations
Every cake I create is entirely bespoke – designed around you and your special occasion. I offer a friendly consultation to understand your vision, from colour palettes and favourite flowers to themes and personal touches. I can colour-match icing to wedding bouquets or dresses, and craft designs to suit any celebration – weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, christenings, Mother’s Day, or even a beautiful celebration of life. No two cakes are ever the same; each one is as unique as the person it’s made for.
Background
Before I turned my passion for baking into my business, I spent many years working as a nurse practitioner within the NHS. That experience taught me the true value of care, patience, and attention to detail – qualities I bring to every cake I make. I genuinely care about each of my clients and take the time to ensure every cake is made to perfection. It’s important to me that the whole process feels personal, thoughtful and special – from our first conversation to that final, joyful moment when the cake is revealed.


Qualifications and Achievements
I’m passionate about learning and perfecting my craft, which is why I’ve attended several masterclasses in London with some of the very best in floral buttercream art. I’ve trained with Soo of @Soocake_ully, Lucia Flower Cake and Rose of @Rosecake1524 – each of them inspiring me to refine my techniques and push the boundaries of my designs.
I’m absolutely thrilled to share that I was awarded GOLD for my entry in the “Display of 6 cupcakes” at this year’s Cake International Show, held at the NEC in Birmingham. There were so many amazing entries that I honestly didn’t think I stood a chance, so I was overjoyed when I saw the result. Even more exciting, I didn’t just win a gold award – I came first in my class! My garden really is my happy place, which is why I love creating these beautiful floral cakes for you – and it’s such a joy to bring that same creativity and detail to every order.
Flavours and Fillings
For me, a cake should taste every bit as wonderful as it looks. I use only the best ingredients and bake each sponge fresh to order. My classic range includes all the much-loved favourites – Vanilla Sponge - A classic moist and light sponge, made with Madagascan vanilla extract, topped with Vanilla Buttercream, Classic Rich Chocolate Sponge, Zesty Lemon Drizzle, and indulgent Red Velvet. Every flavour is chosen for its balance, freshness and flavour, ensuring that each bite is as memorable as the design itself.


Other Passions
The past couple of years I’ve been lucky enough to be chosen in the ballot to run the London Marathon, giving me the chance to support a charity very close to my heart — the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. When I’m not in the kitchen baking, you’ll often spot me training around the streets of Worcester, getting ready for the next big challenge. I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has so generously donated to my fundraising page. Your support genuinely means the world, and I’m deeply grateful for every bit of encouragement.
